Imagine tuning to your favorite radio station, by using the color touch screen installed on your kitchen wall, and instantly the audio is distributed to the kitchen through your in-ceiling speakers. You can check the video feed (on the same touch screen), from your security cameras in the backyard, and keep an eye on the kids. Your friends are about to arrive and you press the “entertaining” preset on your touch screen. Certain TV’s and speakers throughout the house will start to play the DVD you selected, soft background music will start to play in the front hallway, and your favorite CD will begin on the back patio. Without an AV network these tasks would require a decent amount of walking, planning and synchronization.
